PF Compliance Network
PACIFIC FREIGHT Delivering what matters
The Pacific Freight Difference

Verified chain-of-custody for shipments that can't afford gaps.

From specialty freight to insured high-value parcels, Pacific Freight has built the most trusted physical-handoff verification network in the western United States. Every shipment we route is scanned at every waypoint by a credentialed contractor. No black boxes. No silent gaps. Just custody you can trace from origin to destination.

Learn How It Works

The Waypoint Compliance Network

PF's Waypoint Compliance Network is a credentialed last-mile verification framework operating across more than 2,400 active waypoints. It is the spine of every shipment we move.

Each shipment moving through our network is escorted by an NFC-enabled compliance marker — a tamper-evident chip embedded behind a high-visibility yellow sticker affixed to every freight unit. At each waypoint, a credentialed PF contractor scans the marker with the compliance interface on their device, confirming receipt and routing the shipment to its next leg. The result is a continuous, non-repudiable chain of custody from the moment the freight leaves origin to the moment it reaches the recipient.

Unlike traditional consumer-grade tracking that relies on barcode scans at terminal facilities, the Waypoint Compliance Network is verified by humans, at every leg, and recorded in a central compliance ledger. If a shipment skips a waypoint, the system knows. If a routing instruction is missing, the freight is held at the affected waypoint until resolution.

How a Waypoint Scan Works

Five steps — performed by a credentialed contractor at every leg of the route. The full audit trail is recorded in our central compliance ledger.

1

Arrive

The shipment arrives at a designated waypoint. The driver hands custody to the credentialed waypoint contractor on duty.

2

Tap

The contractor taps the yellow PF compliance sticker on the freight unit using their NFC-enabled phone. The compliance interface loads.

3

Confirm Receipt

Receipt is logged at this waypoint. The contractor's credential is bound to the scan record.

4

Confirm Handoff

When the next-leg routing instruction is on file, the contractor confirms handoff. The system validates and records outbound transit.

5

Logged

Each scan is timestamped, contractor-authenticated, and logged in the central compliance ledger. Custody transfers to the next waypoint.

The Independent Contractor Network

Compliance scans are performed by an independent network of credentialed waypoint contractors — the people who keep custody continuous.

New contractors are onboarded as the network expands routing coverage in regions where shipment volume warrants additional waypoints. Onboarding is automated end-to-end: when our routing engine identifies a coverage gap, the system selects a verified candidate, opens a contractor record, and dispatches a physical credential package — a photo ID badge, a contractor handbook, and a unique compliance identifier.

Once activated, contractors are bound by the PF Contractor Agreement, including chain-of-custody obligations, scan-window compliance, and waypoint disclosure terms. Compensation is structured per-scan with quarterly compliance bonuses tied to scan accuracy and on-time release rates.

Security & Compliance

Every scan is recorded against an authenticated contractor. Every chip is tamper-evident. Every ledger entry is preserved for audit.

Tamper-Evident NFC Chips

Every yellow PF compliance marker contains a tamper-evident NFC chip. Any attempt to remove, replace, or duplicate the chip triggers an immediate compliance review and freight hold at the affected waypoint.

Encrypted Ledger

The compliance ledger is encrypted at rest and verified by checksum at every read. Audit logs are retained for the lifetime of the parent shipment plus seven years.

Insurance-Grade Documentation

Every scan generates a timestamped, contractor-authenticated record suitable for insurance claims, regulatory inspection, and legal discovery.

24/7 Compliance Operations

Our compliance operations team monitors the network for anomalous routing, missed scans, and tampering events around the clock. Anomalies escalate within standard windows.
